Analysis

Understand how Skimle analyzes your documents and extracts insights.

Analysis is the heart of Skimle's qualitative data analysis: it reads every document and codes the content into insights and categories, the same coding-and-theming work that thematic analysis does by hand. Skimle offers three analysis modes:

  • Automatic thematic analysis — zero-prompt, builds categories from the inherent structure of your documents.
  • Predefined categories — code against categories you define or pick from Skimle's suggestions, deductively or inductively, with subcategories emerging from the data.
  • Agentic analysis — start from a research question, build a framework with Skimle, and get back coded data plus written analytical themes that answer the question.

You add and run analyses from the Analyses section of your project: click New analysis, pick a mode, and Skimle codes your confirmed documents. A project can hold several analyses, and you can turn on automatic analysis so confirmed documents are analysed as soon as they finish processing.

See how analysis works for the steps that are common to every mode.
