Sharing with respondents

Share your Ask project and collect responses from participants.

Once your questions are ready, share the interview link with your respondents. Anyone with the link can participate.

  1. Open your Ask project.
  2. Click the Share button.
  3. Copy the link to your clipboard.

You can also preview the interview by clicking the preview button, which opens the respondent experience in a new tab.

Send the link via email, messaging, or any channel you prefer. Each respondent who opens the link starts their own independent interview session.

The respondent experience

When a respondent opens the link, they see an introduction screen with:

  • Your name, photo, and a short motivation for the research.
  • The interview title and suggested duration.

Before starting, the respondent is asked to:

  1. Choose a language (if you enabled translation languages in the project settings).
  2. Select a time preference (if applicable).
  3. Accept the privacy notice (required).
  4. Provide an email address (optional, unless you enabled anonymisation, in which case this step is skipped).

During the interview

The interview uses a chat-style interface. Questions appear one at a time, and respondents can answer by:

  • Typing their response.
  • Recording a voice answer, which is automatically transcribed.
  • Selecting an option for multiple-choice questions.

The AI interviewer adapts to each response. If a respondent gives a brief or vague answer to an open-ended question, the AI may ask a follow-up question to gather more detail. The number of follow-ups depends on the settings you configured for each question.

A progress indicator shows respondents which themes have been covered and how far along they are.

After all questions have been answered, the respondent sees a thank-you message. If you enabled the report option, they also receive a summary of their responses.

Privacy and anonymity

  • If anonymise results is enabled, respondents are not asked for their email address and their identity is not recorded.
  • All respondents must accept the privacy notice before starting.
  • You can customise the privacy notice text in the project settings.

Once responses start arriving, you can view and analyze them.
