Categories view
Navigate your analysis through the hierarchical category tree.
The categories view gives you an overview of your analysis results organised by category. It is the best starting point for understanding the themes and patterns that emerged from your data.

Layout
The view is split into two resizable panels:
- Left panel — a tree of your insight categories and subcategories. Please note that you can open and close the "branches" by clicking the small arrow on the left of the category name.
- Right panel — detailed summary content for the currently selected category.
Click any category in the tree to see its summary.
Summary content
When you select a category, the right panel shows several sections:
- Summary — an AI-generated text summary describing the main findings in this category.
- Typical quotes — automatically selected representative quotes from across your documents.
- Interesting quotes — notable quotes that stand out from the data.
- Document summaries — per-document summaries that synthesise the insights contributed by each document.
- Subcategories — a table of child categories with their insight counts, which you can click to navigate deeper.
- Documents with insights — a list of documents that contributed insights to this category.
- Insights — a full list of all insights assigned to this category.
- Metadata — list of metadata categories and values for the documents with insights in this category.
- Metadata summaries — metadata analysis for insights in this category, based on the metadata values (see metadata summaries for more details).
Regenerating summaries
If you have edited your categories or insights and want to refresh the summaries, use the Regenerate summaries button at the top of the summary panel.
